Briefly, what are you going to do?

The staff at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization are raising funds to build a clinic for Shepherd’s Hospice, located in the village of Mopala (population 30,000+), Sierra Leone, Africa. This new clinic will make it possible for hospice and palliative care to be provided to the many people suffering from HIV, TB and other serious and life limiting diseases in local area.

Who are you?

The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), is the oldest and largest organization representing hospice and palliative care programs across the United States. Over the last 9 years, NHPCO has worked closely with its affiliate, FHSSA (which began as the Foundation for Hospices in Sub-Saharan Africa) to build partnerships to enhance compassionate care in Africa.

What is the impact of your campaign?

Sierra Leone is one of the poorest countries in Africa and in the world. Imagine facing a serious life limiting illness without access of care and treatments. While for many of us in the US, this seems almost inconceivable, it is all too common in places like Sierra Leone. By joining together, we have the capacity to fund the construction of a clinic to provide hospice and palliative care for those living in Sierra Leone. Your donation, no matter how large or small, will make a difference to those in need.
